Axis (direct) Mount Systems are close coupled systems utilizing 3/8″ bore stabilized futbols, 3/8″ bore manifolds, and adapter pieces used to help minimize or eliminate GLE (gauge line error) which is the propagation or attenuation of SRE (square root error) and/or gauge line shift. The large bore design also helps with drainage and freezing issues caused by condensation and entrained liquids. Stabilized futbols are preferred over standard futbols as they take the radial forces from the threads to the shoes of the futbol providing a larger footprint and increased strength. They are rated to 150 ft/lbs of torque. This greatly increases the strength and provides extra protection for the technician.
